First time birds on this count – eastern towhee, pipits, hermit thrush, & cowbirds,

Record numbers this year for: bald eagles; brown creepers, horned larks, cardinals, dark-eyed junco, turkeys, grackles, European starlings, white-breasted nuthatch, red-shouldered hawks, hairy woodpeckers, golden-crowned kinglets and Cooper’s Hawk.

 Each of the lists and counters is important. So I thank everyone for participating and your interest in the CBC.

Highlights: Tom and Cheryl Bell had large flocks of horned larks. John Winebrenner & Lisa Silvey had the most eagles – 10. Matt Gerlach had the only snow bunting, black-capped chickadee and red-breasted nuthatch. Ryan Smith and Greg McCallister had the towhee, swamp sparrow and the pileated woodpecker. Melissa Fey had the pipits, kingfisher and northern pintails. Curt Burnette and Rose & Jim Jeffery had one flock of 64 turkey, large flock of tree sparrow & 3 harriers. April Raver had the great-horned owl and grackles. Bill & Sherry Hubbard had the cowbirds at their feeders & 4 eagles on the lake. Jackie Caffee had the most titmouse and a heron on her dock. Randy & I had a heron, northern pintails & 6 eagles.
